Who we are

Courtly is a court discovery service operated by Field Tech Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales. We help you find and access racket sport courts across London. When we say "Courtly", "we", "us" or "our" in this policy, we mean Field Tech Ltd.

What information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate the service:

• Account information — your email address and password when you create an account. An account is required to use Courtly.
• Usage data — aggregate, anonymised data about how the app is used (e.g. which sports or areas are searched most). This data contains no personally identifiable information.
• Enquiry and contact data — any information you voluntarily submit via our contact or court listing forms.
• Waitlist data — your email address if you join our waitlist.

We do not collect payment information. We do not collect precise location data beyond what is needed to centre the map during your session, and this is not stored or transmitted to our servers.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and improve the Courtly app and website
• Respond to enquiries you send us
• Send you service-related communications (e.g. password reset emails)
• Analyse aggregate usage patterns to improve court discovery features
• Contact you about the waitlist if you have signed up

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-party providers and external links

Courtly is a discovery platform. When you tap "Where to Book" or follow a link to a court provider — such as ClubSpark, Better, Everyone Active, or any other operator — you leave Courtly and are subject to that provider's own privacy policy and terms of service.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, data handling, or content of any third-party website or booking platform. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

Our app may use the following third-party services to deliver its functionality:

• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure (EU-hosted where possible)
• Netlify — website and serverless function hosting
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Apple WeatherKit — weather data for outdoor court conditions

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and data processing terms.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from within the Courtly app, or by emailing hello@courtlyapp.uk.

Your rights under UK GDPR

Field Tech Ltd complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request erasure of your data
• Object to or restrict how we process your data
• Request a portable copy of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), access controls on our database, and server-side authentication for sensitive operations.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we do our best to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies

The Courtly website uses only essential cookies required for the site to function (e.g. session management). We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. You can control cookie settings in your browser at any time.

Children

Courtly is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify account holders by email. Continued use of Courtly after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
